Mantles of Mercy

New Mantles of Mercy Are Awaiting the Sons of God.

As I sat before the Lord this morning I was overwhelmed by the mercy that met me there. Immediately I thought of the scripture that reminds me how readily available this mercy is.

"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness."- Lamentations 3:22

As I entered into worship and thankfulness I sensed the Holy Spirit highlighting the word "new"... His mercies are NEW every morning. Webster's dictionary defines the word 'new' like this: not existing before; made, introduced, or discovered recently or now for the first time. This means that His mercy is never ever the same. Yesterday's mercy was perfect for me yesterday, but today has never seen and will never see again the brand-new mercy that encountered me this morning! That is amazing! Today holds its own set of circumstances and challenges that will require fresh mercy, fresh wisdom, fresh revelation to navigate through.

The fact is, that God is ever-creating, doing it better than before, giving beauty for old ashes and to understand that the mercy that is available to every single human is so perfectly created every single morning for your unique situation, is astounding. However, the more astounding fact is the truth that we see found in the parable of The Good Samaritan. In Luke 10 we find Jesus sharing this story and the very last verse in this depiction of human to human mercy is a challenge to all of us.

"Which of these three, do you think, proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?" He said, "The one who showed him mercy." And Jesus said to him, "You go, and do likewise." - Luke 10:36

Go and do likewise. That's the lesson in the parable. If you want to be a neighbor, a friend, a deliverer, a son... Go and be merciful. If you want to change the world, be merciful. If you want to open hearts to the Gospel, be merciful. If you want to preach to the nations, preach mercy. If you want to stand on a platform, display mercy. If you want to impact your workplace, be merciful. If you want to change the atmosphere in your home, love mercy. If you want to confuse the enemy, show mercy to your “haters”. You are given brand-new mercy each and every morning upon opening your eyes. Jesus is challenging you to offer that same mercy to every soul that you encounter. Don't worry, tomorrow has never seen before the mercy that awaits you... It will never run dry.

I heard the Lord say "I'm inviting those who love mercy... The very ones who love to receive My mercy, AND who love to extend mercy to come swiftly and expectantly to the open doors that are awaiting them in this new season. In 2018, there are doors that will be opened to my sons and daughters who love mercy. As they approach My mercy seat, I will drape them in mantles of mercy that will change the hardest of hearts, that will shift world leaders and that will expose perfect love to nations. I delight in the merciful of heart and I will cause their feet to walk in pathways of peace. They need not worry about supplying the demand for mercy. I create it anew each day! They only need to take hold of what is awaiting them and give liberally of this mercy to the broken souls of mankind. Mercy, mercy, mercy! Run quickly to the mercy seat of Yahweh!"

"Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy." -Matthew 5:7
